OUR SOUP TOKEN PROGRAM WAS CREATED TO HELP THOSE MOST AT RISK ACCESS A HEALTHY, HOT MEAL FROM TIME TO TIME. HERE AT GABRIEL'S, WE AIM TO APPROACH THE STRUGGLES OF THE DISADVANTAGED WITH OPEN EYES AND HEARTS, AND WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US BY SUPPORTING THIS MUCH-NEEDED DOWNTOWN INITIATIVE.
We’re doing everything in line with the Provincial Health Order, and a bunch of new procedural changes in addition. We know it’s not ideal, but the health and safety of everyone at Gabriel’s is our main priority. So bear with us, and we’ll get through it together.
Every member of our staff has received comprehensive safety training on effective measures to prevent the transmission of Covid 19, including techniques for social distancing on the job, sanitation, appropriate and proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment), recognizing symptoms in themselves and others, and how and where to seek medical assistance.
We wash our hands, a lot. And we mean a lot. In addition to being extra diligent about washing hands between every task, all staff have a 30-minute alarm that reminds them to wash their hands and tidy their work stations. Don’t be surprised if you hear staff yell: ’30-minute timer wash your hands.’

How we work during Covid 19
Please read the following before stepping into Gabriel’s; it’s for everyone’s safety.
A host will greet you at the door, quickly assess your health, provide you with instructions on how and where to order, and direct you to a table. To maintain social distancing and reduce contact, we encourage guests to order and pay from their phone using our online ordering option.
We have removed the self-serve water station. A server will deliver water to your table.
We have removed the shared condiment table. Please tell your server if you require salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc.
Every hour, on the hour, serving staff disinfect common touch points in the dining room, this includes door handles, washrooms, counter tops, etc.
Debit machine is sanitized between each use
Seems fair. What else?
Take out customers are asked to wait outside. A dedicated table for pick-ups is set up near the front door. For contactless pick-up, we ask people to order online.
Longer waits. Being safer takes time, and all these extra precautions slow down service. Our staff are working hard to provide guests with a safe and enjoyable experience.
